Company Benefits

HOLIDAYS:  All regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible for eleven paid holidays per year.  Nine of these are designated by the company and two are “floating” holidays to be taken with supervisor approval.

VACATION:  All regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible for vacation and sick leave benefits.

MEDICAL INSURANCE:  All regular full-time employees are eligible for medical insurance effective the first of the month following date of hire.  This benefit includes both a HMO and PPO option as well as prescription benefits.

DENTAL INSURANCE:  All regular full-time employees are eligible for dental insurance effective the first of the month following date of hire.  This benefit includes both a HMO and PPO option.

VISION INSURANCE:  All regular full-time employees are eligible for voluntary vision coverage effective the first of the month following date of hire.

BASIC LIFE/PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE:  All regular full-time employees are eligible for Basic Life and Personal Accident Insurance which is provided to eligible employees at no cost.

SHORT TERM DISABILITY/LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE:  All regular, full-time employees are eligible for both of these benefits at no cost.  Coverage provides income protection in the event that you are disabled and therefore, unable to work.  The benefits are coordinated with State Disability Insurance.

WORKER’S COMPENSATION:  Worker’s Compensation benefits are available in accordance with state laws to all employees for any work related injury or illness.

401(k) PLAN:  All regular full-time employees meeting age and service requirements are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan effective the first of the month following your hire date.  There is an employer match and it is discretionary, meaning the company may change it each year if they so desire.  Currently SLI matches 50% of employee contributions up to 8% of their salary.

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE:  All regular full-time employees are eligible for educational assistance.  SLI will reimburse employees 50% of the cost of tuition, books and laboratory fees up to a maximum of $2500.00 per calendar year for job related classes, or classes needed to obtain a job related degree with documentation of appropriate grades.

FLEXIBLE BENEFITS PLAN:  All employees are eligible to participate in the Flexible Benefits Plan effective the first of the month following date of hire.  The Flexible Benefits Plan gives employees the ability to pay for certain out-of-pocket health care expenses and dependent care expenses (childcare) with pre-tax dollars, resulting in potential tax savings.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM:  Confidential counseling is available to all employees as well as members of their families or households and is provided to employees at no cost.

REFERRAL BONUS:   All employees are eligible for a referral bonus if someone they refer is hired and successfully completes 180 days of employment.

FITNESS ROOM:  An on-site Fitness Room is available for employees at no cost.

INCENTIVE COMPENSATION:  All regular employees are eligible to participate in this program.  Payments will be made quarterly and the amount can vary from 0-20% of an employee’s annual compensation.

SERVICE AWARDS:  SLI recognizes employees at the following levels of service: 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, and 20 years.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH:  All employees are eligible to nominate and be nominated for Employee of the Month.  Award includes your name on the EOTM plaque, a special parking space for the month, a comp day, and a $50 gift certificate.
