Museum Receptionist / Tour Guide
Description
We are looking for a Museum Receptionist/Tour Guide to join our team.
The Museum Receptionist/Tour Guide is responsible for helping operating the Museum reception, bookstore & gift shop, and provide guided tours.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the museum, utilize a checklist to verify all routine daily tasks are completed.
- Greet and assist all visitors to the museum, maintain a motivated and positive work environment.
- Answer phones, schedule museum tours.
- Ability to lead museum tours.
- Track and monitor Museum correspondence, and any other ministry correspondence as required.
- Manage a directory of schools, churches, and organizations that visit the Museum.
- Manage a directory of Museum Membership.
- Assist in advertising and social media campaigns.
- Ability to work with volunteers organizing tasks they perform.
- Run cash register, including returns and exchanges, maintain an accurate cash drawer.
- Reconcile discrepancies in daily sales and donations.
- Organize merchandise in the bookstore and gift shop.
- Maintain proper inventory levels of all merchandise, materials, and supplies utilizing QuickBooks and/or Made to Manage.
- Manage purchase order requests in conjunction with SLI purchasing department and procedures.
- Prepare month-end reports and run other reports as required from Quick Books or other systems utilized in the company.
- Inspection walkthroughs of all the interior and exterior areas of the museum to maintain our standards of cleanliness, organization, and professional aesthetic. Make necessary corrections and adjustments. For larger tasks that require assistance: Submit work orders for the Facilities Department.
- Understand and apply the company policies and ethics while establishing the necessary tasks.
- Ensure all the information and activities related to tasks are properly tracked, distributed, reviewed and archived.
- May be required to assist in projects or areas where the need arises as indicated by supervisor.
- May be assigned to any Scantibodies location for any period of time.
- Drive vehicles as necessary for ministry, guests, or execution of other tasks.
- Regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
- Be a self-motivated individual who is detailed oriented and possesses superior organizational skills with the ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Able to lift 25 pounds.
